Flutter and Frontend Developer

About the Role We are looking for a hands-on Flutter and Frontend Developer with strong product-management capabilities, excellent communication skills and an exceptional aesthetic sense. The candidate will work across: A Gen Z-focused consumer mobile application built using Flutter. An enterprise AI-powered web platform built using React and Next.js. This role requires someone who can write strong code, understand product strategy and create interfaces that feel polished, contemporary and intuitive. The candidate should not simply reproduce designs—they should be able to identify visual and usability problems and actively improve the overall product experience. Responsibilities Flutter Mobile-App Development Develop and maintain high-performance mobile applications using Flutter and Dart. Build and optimise applications for Android and iOS from a shared codebase. Implement features involving video recording, uploads, AI-powered experiences, leaderboards, profiles, rewards, notifications and referrals. Integrate REST APIs, WebSockets, Firebase and third-party SDKs. Work with camera, microphone, media gallery, permissions and local storage. Implement push notifications, deep links, authentication and social-sharing features. Optimise video upload, compression, playback and processing experiences. Manage testing, versioning and releases for the Play Store and App Store. Ensure smooth performance across devices, screen sizes and operating systems. Web Frontend Development Develop sophisticated web applications using React.js, Next.js, JavaScript and TypeScript. Build enterprise dashboards, administration panels and AI-powered workflows. Convert Figma designs and user journeys into responsive, production-ready interfaces. Create scalable, reusable components and maintain a consistent design system. Integrate interfaces with APIs, AI services, video-processing systems and real-time features. Ensure speed, accessibility, usability and browser compatibility. Write clean, modular, maintainable and well-documented code. Participate in code reviews, testing, debugging and release management. UI, UX and Aesthetic Ownership Maintain high visual standards across mobile and web interfaces. Demonstrate a strong understanding of typography, spacing, colour, hierarchy, imagery, iconography and motion. Ensure consumer-facing experiences feel energetic, contemporary and relevant to younger audiences. Ensure enterprise-facing experiences feel sophisticated, credible and intuitive. Identify weak, inconsistent or outdated design elements and recommend improvements. Translate brand guidelines into cohesive digital experiences. Improve Figma designs when necessary instead of implementing them mechanically. Create polished micro-interactions, transitions, empty states, loading states and feedback mechanisms. Balance visual appeal with usability, performance and development feasibility. Work closely with designers while being capable of making sound independent design decisions. Product Management Convert business objectives and ideas into clear product requirements. Create user flows, feature specifications, user stories and acceptance criteria. Break larger product ideas into practical development tasks and milestones. Maintain and prioritise the product backlog. Evaluate features based on user impact, business value, technical effort and timelines. Identify gaps, edge cases and usability issues before development begins. Coordinate with design, backend, AI, QA and business teams. Own features from initial concept through development, testing and launch. Use analytics and user feedback to recommend improvements. Communicate timelines, dependencies, risks and progress clearly to stakeholders. Work directly with founders and contribute meaningfully to product decisions. Qualifications Strong hands-on experience with Flutter and Dart. Experience developing and releasing production applications for Android and iOS. Proficiency in React.js, Next.js, JavaScript and TypeScript. Experience with Flutter state-management frameworks such as Riverpod, Bloc, Provider or GetX. Experience integrating REST APIs, WebSockets, Firebase and third-party SDKs. Understanding of mobile architecture, performance optimisation and app-store releases. Strong knowledge of responsive design and component-based development. Experience translating Figma designs into accurate and polished interfaces. Strong command of visual hierarchy, typography, spacing, colour and interaction design. Ability to evaluate and independently improve the quality of an interface. Strong product thinking and problem-solving ability. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to explain technical and product decisions to non-technical stakeholders. Familiarity with Git, CI/CD workflows and agile development practices. Required Skills Experience building social, gaming, creator-economy or video-based applications. Experience with camera-based apps and user-generated video workflows. Knowledge of native Android/Kotlin or iOS/Swift development. Familiarity with video compression, streaming and upload optimisation. Experience developing enterprise SaaS products and complex dashboards. Familiarity with generative AI and AI-powered product integrations. Hands-on familiarity with Figma and design systems. Understanding of motion design and micro-interactions. Familiarity with PostHog, Mixpanel, Firebase Analytics or similar tools. Previous experience in a hybrid developer-product role.
