About The Role We are currently seeking an experienced and technically proficient React Native Lead Engineer to join our client’s dynamic team. This role is pivotal in providing technical leadership across mobile and backend applications, ensuring the delivery of high-quality, scalable, and secure solutions. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Java, Spring Boot, and React Native, with a proven track record of leading enterprise-level projects within the banking and financial services domain. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work on innovative payment solutions, including bill splitting, contact-based payments, and open banking journeys, in a fast-paced and collaborative environment. The Lead Engineer will be responsible for translating architecture into actionable development plans, mentoring team members, and ensuring the successful delivery of complex technical solutions. Qualifications The ideal candidate will possess a Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience. They should have between 6 to 12 years of software engineering experience, with demonstrated expertise in Java, Spring Boot, microservices, and distributed systems. Strong knowledge of React Native architecture, mobile lifecycle management, and secure API integration is essential. Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP, along with containerization and orchestration tools like Docker and Kubernetes, is highly desirable. Candidates should also have a background in financial services, including payments, open banking, or digital wallets, and familiarity with security protocols like OAuth 2.0, JWT, and API security standards. Proven leadership skills in code reviews, technical mentoring, and delivery management are crucial for success in this role. Responsibilities The Lead Engineer will be responsible for leading the design, development, and deployment of secure, scalable, and resilient mobile and backend solutions. Key responsibilities include translating solution architecture into detailed technical designs and implementation patterns, overseeing Java/Spring Boot microservices, REST APIs, and React Native mobile channels. The candidate will drive coding standards, conduct code reviews, and ensure high engineering quality by reducing technical debt and promoting reusable patterns. Collaboration with cross-functional teams such as Solution Architects, Product Owners, UX designers, API engineers, testers, and DevOps teams is vital to ensure seamless integration and delivery. The role involves owning technical estimates, identifying dependencies and risks, and making informed decisions regarding release readiness and implementation strategies. Troubleshooting complex issues across mobile, API, and backend layers, while ensuring performance, security, and operational resilience, is a core aspect of the role. Additionally, the Lead Engineer will mentor junior engineers, contribute to Agile ceremonies, and promote continuous improvement through automation, testing, and deployment best practices.
