Position Description: We are seeking a passionate and detail-oriented Test Engineer - UI & API with 6-8 years of experience in test automation. The candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining automated test scripts to ensure the quality and reliability of software applications. Your future duties and responsibilities Design, develop, and execute manual and automated test cases for web applications and backend services. Perform comprehensive UI testing to validate functionality, usability, workflows, and business requirements. Perform API testing to validate endpoints, request/response payloads, authentication, status codes, error handling, and business logic. Write and execute SQL queries to validate database records, data integrity, transformations, and backend processing. Perform end to end validation across UI, APIs, application services, and databases. Develop and maintain Python based test automation scripts and utilities. Execute regression, integration, system, functional, smoke, sanity, and end to end testing. Use Unix/Linux commands to analyze application logs, troubleshoot issues, monitor processes, and investigate test failures. Identify, document, track, and retest defects with clear reproduction steps and supporting evidence. Collaborate with developers, business analysts, product owners, and other QA engineers to understand requirements and resolve issues. Analyze test results and perform root cause analysis for application, API, and database failures. Maintain test documentation, test data, automation scripts, and regression suites. Integrate and execute automated tests as part of CI/CD pipelines. Participate in requirement reviews, test planning, estimation, defect triage, and release validation. Continuously improve test coverage, automation efficiency, and overall product quality. Required Qualifications To Be Successful In This Role Must Have Skills: 6+ years of experience as a Test Engineer / QA Engineer with strong experience in manual and automation testing. Hands on experience in UI testing of web based applications. Strong experience in API testing using tools such as Postman, REST Assured, or similar. Good understanding of REST APIs, HTTP methods, status codes, request/response validation, JSON, and XML. Strong proficiency in SQL for database validation, data verification, and backend testing. Experience validating data across relational databases such as MySQL, PostgreSQL, Oracle, or SQL Server. Hands on experience with Unix/Linux, including shell commands, log analysis, process monitoring, and basic troubleshooting. Good programming/scripting skills in Python for test automation, data validation, utilities, and scripting. Strong knowledge of functional, integration, regression, system, and end to end testing. Experience creating and executing test cases, test scenarios, test scripts, and test data. Ability to analyze test failures, identify root causes, and perform defect investigation. Experience with defect tracking and test management tools such as JIRA, Azure DevOps, ALM, or similar. Good understanding of SDLC and STLC and software QA processes. Strong analytical, troubleshooting, documentation, and communication skills. Good to Have Skills: Experience with UI automation frameworks such as Selenium, Playwright, or Cypress. Experience with API automation using Python, PyTest, Requests, or equivalent frameworks. Knowledge of BDD frameworks such as Cucumber or Behave. Experience integrating automated tests with CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins, GitLab CI, GitHub Actions, or similar. Familiarity with Git/GitHub/GitLab and source code management practices. Experience with Linux shell scripting and automation. Knowledge of Docker and cloud environments such as AWS, Azure, or GCP. Experience with performance testing tools such as JMeter or similar. Exposure to microservices architecture and distributed systems. Knowledge of Agile/Scrum methodologies and experience working in Agile teams.
