Sr. Technical Lead / Architect – Fullstack (UX Performance & Architecture)

We're hiring a Senior Technical Lead / Architect to own the architecture and performance of our web application's frontend-to-backend stack. This is not a hands-on-only developer role — while you'll refactor code and build revamped designs where needed, your primary charge is architectural ownership: deeply understanding modern UI/UX frameworks and patterns, auditing and critiquing designs and proposals (including from third-party vendors), and driving the platform toward sub-second UI response times. You'll be equally comfortable evaluating a React component tree, questioning an Angular state-management pattern, and rewriting a slow SQL query — because in this role, frontend performance and backend query performance are two sides of the same problem. Key Responsibilities: Own the technical architecture of the fullstack platform end-to-end — from UI rendering performance down to the SQL queries powering it Review, audit, and critique architecture proposals, designs, and code from third-party vendors and internal teams, with authority to push back and demand better Diagnose root causes of current performance bottlenecks across the UI, application layer, and database layer Design and drive execution of a revamp/refactor roadmap targeting sub-second UI/UX response times Define and enforce frontend architecture best practices — component design, state management, rendering strategy, bundle/load optimization, caching — across React and Angular codebases Write and optimize performant SQL queries, and guide developers on query design, indexing, and data access patterns that don't tank frontend performance Set technical standards, patterns, and guardrails that the broader engineering team builds against Partner with product, design, and backend teams to ensure performance is a first-class design constraint, not an afterthought Mentor developers and raise the technical bar across the fullstack team Required Qualifications 8+ years of experience in fullstack development/architecture, with demonstrated depth in modern UI/UX architecture and design patterns — not just framework syntax Strong working knowledge of React and Angular (framework-agnostic architectural thinking is what matters most here) Proven experience auditing, reviewing, and critiquing technical designs, architectures, and vendor proposals Hands-on experience diagnosing and resolving frontend performance issues at scale (rendering, load time, re-renders, bundle size, network waterfall, etc.) Strong SQL skills, including writing and optimizing performant queries, indexing strategy, and understanding query execution plans Track record of leading revamp/refactor initiatives on existing, non-performant systems — not just greenfield builds Ability to think in trade-offs across the full stack (UI, API, database) to hit aggressive performance targets like sub-second response times Strong communication skills — able to clearly articulate architectural decisions and push back constructively on weak proposals, including from external vendors Preferred Qualifications Experience with frontend performance tooling (Lighthouse, Web Vitals, profilers, APM tools) Experience with database performance tuning tools and query analyzers Prior experience as a technical architect/lead evaluating vendor or third-party deliverables Experience working in regulated or enterprise environments with legacy technical debt Why Join Us Join a Gartner-recognized Responsible AI company at the forefront of enterprise GenAI adoption, with the opportunity to work on cutting-edge agentic AI systems alongside a team connected to leading AI ventures like Amelia.ai.
