Java Specialis

Role Description This is a part-time remote role for a Java Specialist. The Java Specialist will design, develop, and maintain Java-based applications and services that support lounge operations, reservations, and customer experience platforms. Day-to-day tasks include implementing robust software solutions using Jakarta EE, building and optimizing microservices, applying design patterns, and ensuring code quality, performance, and scalability. The role will also involve collaborating with product and operations teams to translate business requirements into technical solutions, performing troubleshooting and bug fixing, and contributing to continuous improvement of existing systems. Documentation of technical implementations and participation in code reviews will be an integral part of the responsibilities. Qualifications • Strong skills in Software Development and Programming, with hands-on experience in Java-based applications. • Practical experience with Jakarta EE for building enterprise-grade, secure, and scalable solutions. • Proficiency in Microservices architecture, including design, development, and integration of distributed services. • Ability to apply Design Patterns to create maintainable, modular, and high-quality code. • Familiarity with RESTful APIs, relational databases, and version control systems (e.g., Git). • Experience with cloud platforms or containerization tools (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes) is an advantage. • Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to work independently in a remote environment. • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
